Inside story: Iranian delegation granted visas amid 'no plans' for Raisi-Biden meeting

The story: Iran's conservative President Ebrahim Raisi is in the US to attend the United Nations General Assembly. The trip is his first to a western country since taking office in Aug. 2021.

Raisi has ruled out the possibility of meeting his US counterpart Joe Biden. However, the Iranian government has said the president's delegation is open to talks with America's western allies on the revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
