The story: Amid increasing tension over the stalled talks on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran is shining a positive light on its engagement with the European Union. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a senior Iranian official has told Amwaj.media that “Iran’s new government has made a definitive decision to enter dialogue” on a revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, “But to ensure that the negotiations won’t be exhaustive they want to discuss the initial phase with the JCPOA coordinator,” referring to the EU’s role as defined in the nuclear deal.
