Exclusive: Iraq’s PM girds to expand Iranian-Arab dialogue

Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi is back in Baghdad after 48 hours of shuttle diplomacy to jumpstart the stalled talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia that he has been hosting.

Kadhimi and his entourage performed a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca upon their arrival in Saudi Arabia on June 25. In the evening, the Iraqi premier met with his host, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud, in Jeddah. The following day, Kadhimi flew directly to Iran, where he was greeted by the electricity minister upon his arrival in Tehran.
