Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has passed away, at the age of 86, after having entered office in Sept. 2020. Only two other monarchs in Kuwait have served for shorter periods of time. Once news of Sheikh Nawaf’s death became public, a long list of world leaders including Joe Biden, Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, and Narendra Modi honored Kuwait’s 16^th ruler and offered their condolences to the Gulf Arab state and its new Emir.
