Infighting set to flare as principlists seize Tehran City Council

The city council elections in Iran last month have put the conservatives at the helm in the country’s capital. Members of the Coalition Council of the Islamic Revolution Forces, also known by its Persian acronym ‘Shana’, won all 21 seats in the polls. As a result, Tehran’s municipal administration, which has been dominated by Reformists for the past four years, is about to change hands.
