Why was Iran excluded from the ‘Doha Process’ on Syria?

On the eve of the tenth anniversary of the Syrian uprising, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani hosted his Russian and Turkish counterparts Sergei Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu to launch “a new trilateral consultation process” on Syria.
