Competing against the Zangazur Corridor, Azerbaijan and Iran plan to build a road and railway to the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan via Iranian territory. The route will re-invigorate an old Soviet-era line that crossed at the Jolfa-Julfa border point.
