Former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s 1990 invasion of Kuwait cratered the relationship between the two neighbors. More than three decades later, even with Saddam gone, the flaring up of border-related issues is once again fueling bilateral tensions. The dispute has already impacted regional dialogue as seen in the cancellation last autumn of a gathering of Gulf Arab, Iranian and Iraqi foreign ministers. Amwaj.media invited three experts to debate the key obstacles to a leap forward in Iraq-Kuwait relations.
