After agreeing to restore diplomatic ties in Oct. 2023, following seven years of estrangement, Iran and Sudan have enjoyed a significant improvement in relations. Sudan's foreign minister traveled to Tehran in February this year, extending an invitation for President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Khartoum. This comes amid reports that Iran has been supplying drones to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), giving rise to speculations that the Islamic Republic is actively involved in the fight against the Emirati-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Amwaj.media invited three experts to examine whether Iranian influence is impacting the conflict in Sudan and, if yes, in what way.
