Israeli talk of deploying nukes sparks strong reactions in Iran

The story: Iran has strongly condemned an Israeli minister’s suggestion that Gaza may be nuked. Some senior officials in Tehran say Tel Aviv has in effect publicly admitted that it indeed has nuclear weapons. Others have condemned the lack of condemnation from the west. Meanwhile, some Iranian pundits have seized on the outrage to broach the subject of Iran’s lack of nuclear deterrence.

The coverage: Israeli Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage Amichai Eliyahu has been suspended from the cabinet after suggesting that atomic bombs could be used in the Gaza war.
