Rocket attacks put spotlight on Iraqi Kurdish natural gas ambitions

The story: The Khor Mor natural gas field in Iraq’s Sulaimaniyah Governorate has been attacked with rockets on three occasions over the course of four days, wounding at least two contractors. The facility is the largest in the Kurdistan region and located in territory controlled by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). Operated by United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Dana Gas, the site is central to the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) plans to export gas to Europe and Turkey.
