British JCPOA negotiator in crosshairs as Iran pins protests on ‘enemy’

Story: In his latest remarks on the protests in Iran, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has continued to blame the west and "foreign actors.” He has also reiterated the political establishment's discourse on the need to distinguish protests from "riots."

Other prominent Iranian officials and the media are following suit in pointing to "the enemy" as the culprits behind the unrest. This comes as the protests continue despite an ongoing crackdown and Internet outages.
