Deep Dive: After ‘attacks’ and raid in Europe, can Iran get exiled dissidents extradited?

The story: Iran says it is pursuing the extradition of members of the Albania-based Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK). This comes as the Iranian opposition group in a span of two days had its annual gathering in France canceled and its camp in Albania raided by police.

Iran has welcomed both developments while state-linked media have credited the Ebrahim Raisi administration for the incidents.

Against this backdrop, separate unconfirmed reports have emerged of multiple attacks on a MEK building in Paris. In one of the claimed incidents, a senior member of the group blamed for a major 1981 bombing in Iran is said to have been killed.
