The story: Qatar has announced an ambitious plan to ensure that the FIFA World Cup it’s set to host next year will be free from Covid-19. Authorities in Doha believe that such an objective can be achieved through mass vaccinations of local residents and foreign visitors with tickets to World Cup events. This comes as a movement which criticizes Qatar over the reported treatment of foreign workers employed to build the event’s infrastructure is gaining momentum.
