The story: In a breakthrough, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo. He also held talks with Egyptian chief diplomat Sameh Shoukry to discuss “ways to enhance the positive atmosphere.” The meetings come as part of an effort to expand bilateral relations and build off of the Al-Ula summit in January that ended the diplomatic crisis between the two countries. If successful, these efforts could play a large role in promoting regional stability.
