Are expatriates abandoning Kuwait, Oman?

The story: Plans to nationalize the workforce in Kuwait and Oman—dubbed ‘Kuwaitization’ and ‘Omanization’ respectively—are resulting in expatriates departing from both countries. Kuwait’s population has now recorded the biggest annual drop in almost three decades. Meanwhile, Omani authorities indicate that 270,000 expatriates left the country over 2019-2020.
