Extradition of controversial rapper to Iran highlights danger for dissidents

The story: Iranian authorities say controversial rapper Amir Hossein Maqsoudloo, better known as Tataloo, has been extradited by Turkey. Amid extensive reactions on social media, the development highlights the Islamic Republic's sway with neighboring countries. The extradition is particularly alarming for Iranian dissidents, many of whom have made Turkey their new home.

The coverage: Judiciary-run Mizan News Agency reported on Dec. 6 that Tataloo had been handed over to Iran at the Bazargan border crossing in West Azerbaijan Province.
