GCC states condemn Israel’s ‘storming’ of Islam’s third holiest site

The story: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states have condemned Israel in unison for “storming” the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) normalized relations with Israel via the 2020 Abraham Accords. However, despite the growing partnership between some Gulf Arab states and Tel Aviv, violence at the Aqsa Mosque—Islam’s third holiest site—remains a red line.
