Iran's new president hit by damaging leaks on prisoner abuse

The story: The ongoing exposing of prisoner mistreatment captured by surveillance cameras at Tehran’s notorious Evin prison continues to stir controversy. An anonymous group claiming to be behind the leaks says the videos were obtained through the hacking of prison camera systems. The scandal has so far led to an apology from the judiciary and a promise to investigate the ill-treatment of prisoners. Importantly, the hack has put pressure on new President Ebrahim Raisi, who served as chief justice when the abuse took place.
