Turkey's offensive in Iraq highlights complex regional politics

The story: Turkey has launched a new offensive against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in northern Iraq. The move is an escalation of the long-running conflict with the group. Iraqi officials have spoken out resoundingly against the operation as well as associated statements and public appearances made by their Turkish counterparts. But whether Baghdad intends to back its tough talk with action remains to be seen.
