Top EU official headed to Iran amid concerns about blame game

The story: Iran is set to host Enrique Mora, deputy secretary general of the European External Action Service (EEAS). The Oct. 14 visit comes amid continued ambiguity about when talks on a revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal will resume. On the eve of his visit, Mora tweeted that he is traveling to the Iranian capital to “raise the urgency” of resuming negotiations, adding that it is “crucial to pick up talks from where we left last June.” Meanwhile, the US special envoy for Iran is on a roadshow to tell audiences in Washington and regional capitals that Iran must show flexibility and offer more concessions if it wants further sanctions lifting.
