Iran floats expanded missile range amid vows of ‘crushing’ response to Israel

The story: Iranian officials are increasingly warning of a “crushing” response to Israel’s Oct. 26 aerial strike on Iran. Meanwhile, as regional tensions escalate, an advisor to Iran’s supreme leader has suggested that Iran could lift a self-imposed limit on the range of its missiles and reconsider its opposition against nuclear arms. This comes as Reformist President Masoud Pezeshkian has suggested that a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon could “affect the intensity and type” of Iran’s anticipated retaliation against Israel.
