Iran's Raisi nods to JCPOA revival, talks with Saudi Arabia

The story: Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raisi has signaled that he does not oppose indirect talks with the US on the revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which Washington withdrew from in 2018. Raisi, however, emphasized that Iran’s foreign policy will under his tenure encompass more than just the nuclear deal—formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)—and that he has no intention to meet US President Joe Biden. He also indicated that he supports dialogue with Saudi Arabia to normalize ties.
