Iran’s Reformists bank on outreach, fear factor to win presidential runoff

The story: Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian and hardliner Saeed Jalili will face each other in a presidential runoff as no candidate won a majority of votes on June 28.

Pezeshkian’s campaign is now gearing to engage with voters who boycotted the first round, and highlighting the pitfalls of another hardline administration to boost turnout. Meanwhile, Jalili’s team has tried to present his Reformist rival as a man without a plan.
