The story: A court in Kuwait has ordered the pre-trial detention of former prime minister and member of the ruling family Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. This is the first time in the history of Kuwait that an ex-premier has been detained. The same court has also ordered the arrests of former interior and defense minister Khaled Al-Jarrah and seven others over alleged corruption related to military funds.
