Kuwait moves to mediate end to Gulf-Lebanon rift

The story: Kuwait has hosted a meeting of Arab chief diplomats to discuss a framework to end the ongoing rift between Gulf states and Lebanon. The Kuwaiti foreign minister has announced that the Lebanese response to the framework is a “positive step” toward resolving the diplomatic dispute. Some Gulf Arab states—including Kuwait—recalled their ambassadors in Oct. 2021 over criticism of the Saudi-led war in Yemen voiced by then-Lebanese information minister George Kordahi.
