Qatar, UAE reopen embassies as intra-Gulf Arab normalization nears completion

The story: Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reopened their respective embassies. This finalizes the normalization effort that began with the end of the 2017-21 rift between the Arab Quartet (Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE) and Qatar. Bahrain is now the only Quartet member that has not reopened its embassy in Doha. However, Qatar has indicated that relations with Bahrain could soon be fully normalized as well.

The coverage: The UAE and Qatar on June 19 announced the resumption of diplomatic representation between the two states.
