The story: Iran's new President Ebrahim Raisi has told Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi that solutions to regional issues should be sought within the region. Raisi also emphasized to Kadhimi that outside interference is not a source of stability and development. The comments were made in a phone call between the two men ahead of Baghdad’s hosting of a conference on regional cooperation later this month. If Raisi attends the event, it would mark his first foreign visit as president.
