Saudi Arabia moves to boost defense partnership with Russia

The story: Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman Al Saud (KbS) has signed a military cooperation pact with his Russian counterpart. The accord signed in Moscow will strengthen bilateral defense relations as the US—Saudi Arabia’s traditional partner—reconfigures its regional security strategy. Russia also suggested arms sales to the Kingdom during the Saudi visit; a move that will likely prompt a US response.
