Pilgrimage on behalf of Queen Elizabeth leads to arrest in Saudi Arabia

The story: Saudi authorities have arrested a Yemeni man for holding a banner at Mecca’s Grand Mosque proclaiming how he is performing a pilgrimage on behalf of recently deceased Queen Elizabeth II. Islamic custom forbids the performance of the Haj or Umrah on behalf of non-Muslims. The incident has sparked an apparent social media campaign to ban the displaying of similar banners and slogans at Islam’s holiest site.
