Houthi attacks on Saudi airport prompt rare GCC solidarity

The story: The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has announced the interception of two armed drones targeting Saudi Arabia’s Abha airport. The attempted attacks on the civilian airport by the Yemeni movement, better known as the Houthis, have notably sparked rare solidarity among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. Coalition forces later retaliated by attacking alleged drone launchpads in the Yemeni capital Sana’a. Fighting between coalition forces and the Houthis has recently increased amid stalled peace negotiations to end the years-long war.
