UAE under fire over rights record amid Dubai World Expo

The story: Former UN human rights commissioner Mary Robinson has called on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to free activist Ahmed Mansoor four years after his jailing for criticizing Emirati authorities. Separately, a British court has found that the Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ordered the hacking of his ex-wife’s phone during divorce custody proceedings. The rights-focused media coverage comes as Dubai is promoting tolerance at the world expo.
