Hit by Houthi attacks, UAE pitches regional anti-drone ‘shield’

The story: Having come under repeated aerial attacks by Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, better known as the Houthis, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has proposed a regional “shield” to intercept drone strikes. This follows Abu Dhabi’s hosting of the “only event in the Middle East dedicated for drones,” which comes in the aftermath of parallel Emirati engagement with Israel and Turkey on regional security.
