Will IRGC casualties drag Iran into direct confrontation with Israel?

The story: Two Iranian “military advisors” in Syria have been killed in a suspected Israeli attack, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced. The officers are the first known Iranian casualties of the Hamas-Israel war, coming nearly two months since the conflict started.

Meanwhile, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has called on western nations to hold referendums in their nations to gauge their publics’ support for the Palestinian cause.
