Zarif returns to government service amid cheers, jeers in Iran

The story: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has appointed former foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif (2013-21) as his deputy for strategic affairs. This comes just weeks after Zarif, who campaigned for Pezeshkian as his effective running mate, said he would not serve in the new administration.
